What Molly Said!
“So keep fightin' for freedom and justice, beloveds, but don't you forget to have fun doin' it. Lord, let your laughter ring forth. Be outrageous, ridicule the fraidy-cats, rejoice in all the oddities that freedom can produce. And when you get through kickin' ass and celebratin' the sheer joy of a good fight, be sure to tell those who come after how much fun it was.”(Molly Ivins 1944-2007)
I have been feeling particularly homesick for Texas over the last few weeks. Instead of putting up a bunch of pictures of the most beautiful grandchildren in the world and thereby creating grandparent-envy in all who view them, I just decided to put up a quote from the late, great, much beloved Texas Icon, Molly.
Lord, I would love to hear what she has to say about this current election. I am thinking that she might be telling it like my good sister-friend, Lindy over at http://stillfruity.blogspot.com/2008/09/few-questions-on-race.html.
Yeah, sister…what she said! So watch out you "fraidy cats"! Our laughter is about to "ring forth"!

I'm blushing...
If I thought I had it in me I'd try to speculate on what Molly would say, Ann too... Wouldn't they have a field day with She Who Shall Not Be Named? I don't think I could do either of them justice but I may amuse myself with it.
I went to Austin with my sister-in-law last Tuesday. She's such a consumer that all we did was shop which just about bored me flat to death. I was thinking of the lake the whole time. I love Town Lake this time of year. We're just on the cusp of that time of year...
I love this time of year in Texas. Maybe I love it so much because it is the time that we remember that it is indeed Texas and not Hell. :-)
Yes, Hell is the season just past. Now we will have a few weeks of Texas as it should be.
